Woody Carroll Jenkins was born on May 15, 1946, in Hamburg, Iowa the son of Mark and Ruth (Hess) Jenkins. Woody entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 25, 2011 at his home in Grand Junction, Iowa.

Woody's early years were spent in the community of Shenandoah where he attended school. It was there that he married the love of his life, and his best friend, Rita K. Hagedorn on September 19, 1963. One daughter, Jill was born to this union. Jill was the apple of her father's eye.

Woody had a passion for many things in life including fishing, music, the Nebraska Cornhuskers and spending quality time with his family and friends. He had a heart of gold and was always willing to help out his friends. He was a devoted son, husband, father, and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents Mark and Ruth Jenkins; brother Gary Jenkins; grandparents Gene (Bud) and Elsie Hess; and aunts and uncles June and Fred Jenkins and Margie and Harold Isom.

Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 47 years Rita Jenkins; daughter Jill Jenkins-Biggs and husband Bill; grandchildren William (Bud) Biggs, Kathryn Biggs, and Allyson Biggs; great-grandchildren Hannah Louis Biggs and Madelyn Ruth Biggs; sister and brother-in-law Lois and Gary Higgins; cousins Karen Woodward and Tony Jenkins; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many precious friends.
