William W. 'Bill" Morgan, Jr., age 85, of Shenandoah, Iowa, died on February 14, 2006 in Omaha, Nebraska.

He was preceded in death by his parents, W. Wallace and Mabel Morgan and sister, Elizabeth Morgan.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred "Millie" Morgan; daughter and son-in-law, Anne and Doug Rogers of Lincoln, Nebraska; son, Chuck Morgan of Owensboro, Kentucky; and sister and brother-in-law Lillian and Elton Dawson of Utica, Kentucky.

Bill was born and raised in the Farragut area. He was a graduate of Iowa State University, where he was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity. A World War II veteran, Bill was a member of the American Legion Post # 88 of Shenandoah. A life long farmer in Fremont County, he was very active in the cattle and grain business. As an owner and operator of the Farragut Elevator Company, he was nationally recognized by Ralston Purina and Nutrina as a dealer. During this period he served on the Board of Directors of the Iowa Grain and Feed Association. He also had a long association with the First National Bank of Farragut as a member of the Board of Directors for over 50 years. Most recently, he served on the Shenandoah Library Board of Directors. Bill was an avid collector of antique stoneware, cast iron doorstops and memorabilia from the Omaha, Sioux City and St. Joseph stockyards.

Graveside memorial services were held on Saturday, April 22, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Shenandoah. Words of remembrance were given by Bill's family. Susie Schaaf sang "Home On The Range" at graveside. Military rites were accorded by the Shenandoah American Legion Post #88. Following the graveside, everyone was invited to the American Legion Country Club for a time of remembering and lunch. Terry Stafford entertained the crowd by playing 1950's tunes on the piano. Susie Schaaf closed the gathering by singing, "I Believe". Memorials may be directed to the Shenandoah Public Library in Bill's name. The Hackett-Livingston Funeral Home in Shenandoah was in charge of the arrangements.
