William B. (Bill) Miller, son of Max and Mildred (Darland) Miller, was born on September 13, 1942 in Shenandoah, Iowa. He passed away on Monday, August 31, 2015 at the Elm Heights Care Center in Shenandoah, at the age of 72, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Bill was a long time resident of Page County and Shenandoah. He graduated from Shenandoah High School with the Class of 1961. Following graduation, he attended Iowa State University before starting his own trucking company - Miller Trucking.
He was a long time member of Shenandoah Elks Lodge #1122 and also of the Shenandoah Eagles Club. Bill served on the Board of Directors of the Iowa Truckers Association. For many years he operated the Dollar Bar located on West Thomas.
During the winter months, Bill enjoyed his second home in Mesa, Arizona. Through the years, he enjoyed camping and his dog "Buddy". Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, whom he loved dearly.
Preceding Bill in death were his parents; his brother, Jonathan; son-in-law, Josh Fritz and grandson Zack Porter.
Survivors include his children, Fred Miller of Red Oak, IA and Melissa Fritz of Tama, Iowa; stepson, Chris Porter; three grandchildren, Clayton Fritz, Jackson Miller and Mariah Miller; two sisters, Ann Nelson and husband Bruce of Lenexa, KS and Jane Gloede of Newhall, IA; brother, Mark Miller and wife Carol Lea of LeMars, IA; aunt, Phyllis Ketcham of Shenandoah; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
Memorials in Bill's name are being directed to Shenandoah Elks Lodge #1122.
Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Shenandoah.
