Walter Lee Coodey, II, of Shenandoah, Iowa, formerly of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma was born September 17, 1941 in Los Angeles, California to Walter Lee and Helen Louise (Gibson) Coodey. He passed away on September 16, 2015 in Omaha, Nebraska. He was 73 years old.

Walter spent his early life in California. He was a truck driver working over the road. He was also a taxi cab driver in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma working at the airport. He then retired to Shenandoah, Iowa.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Shenandoah. He loved going to the church functions, dinners and sampling everything. He would say "those ladies could sure make desserts." He also enjoyed watching youth baseball on the TV and cheering them on. Walter also loved visiting with his friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife Katherine Coodey, son William Coodey and two grandsons Heath and Jason Coodey.

Walter is survived by his son Walter Coodey, III and wife Connie of Shenandoah, daughter Lavena Bonifield and husband Jeff of Oklahoma City, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and brother William Coodey of Oklahoma City, numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
