Urban David Coy, son of Arthur David and Eva Grace (Moore) Coy, was born on November 15, 1924 in Shenandoah, Iowa. He passed away on December 3, 2015 at The University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. Bud was 91 years old.
His early life was spent growing up in the community of Farragut, Iowa. He went to grade school in Farragut and graduated from Farragut High School. On June 2, 1945 he married Mary Marcene Morgan in Kansas. They resided in Farragut, Iowa.
Bud was a farmer from 1942 until his retirement in 1999. He was a member of the Farragut Congregational Church since 1937, past Master of the Masonic Lodge and a volunteer fireman at Farragut Fire and Rescue for 50 plus years. He enjoyed driving around town and southwest Iowa looking at farm ground, the animals and scenery. He also enjoyed the opportunities to facetime with his great-granddaughter Natalie. Bud had the best view from his porch for watching the cars come and go from town.
Preceding Bud in death was his wife Mary Marcene Coy (2013) and his parents Arthur David and Eva Grace Coy.
Those left to cherish his memory include his son Larry Coy and wife Barbara; grandchildren Nicholas Coy and Carmen Nelson; great-granddaughter Natalie Nelson all of Riverside, California; special friends John Burkhiser and Shirley and Lonnie Koch of Farragut; other relatives and many friends.
Memorials may be directed to the Farragut Fire and Rescue.
Burial will be held at the Farragut Cemetery in Farragut, Iowa.
