Thomas "Tommy" Leo Smith, the son of Danny E. and Willa "Fran" (King) Houston, was born on December 18, 1974 in Clarinda, Iowa. Tommy passed away on October 21, 2016 in a automobile accident in Atchison County, Missouri. He was 41 years old.

Tommy has spent most of his life in Southwest Iowa and Northwest Missouri. In 1993, he received his GED. He has been married twice both ending in divorce with no children.

Tommy liked to work outdoors with plants and animals. His last job was at Pork Productions outside of Tarkio. He was a very hard worker.

Tommy had a very strong faith and was baptized at the New Freedom Church in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He loved fishing, and to make people laugh. He also loved sitting outside by a campfire telling stories and spending time with his family and friends. He was very proud of his home and flowers.

Tommy was preceded in death by his grandparents: June and Ben King and Raymond and Bernice Houston, uncles Jim Houston, Jay H. Houston and George Houston, aunt Louise Shaw, cousins Rhonda Houston and Janet Shaw.

Tommy is survived by his parents, Fran and Danny Houston, sisters, Penny Caldwell and husband Jamie of Tarkio, MO, Mary Parker of Shenandoah and Sherry Young and husband Tim of rural Bedford, IA, niece Makayla, nephews Josh, Spencer, Schuylar, Brandon, Tristan, Ian and Jesse, great nephew Caleb, many other relatives and friends.

Celebration of life memorial service will be held 3:00 pm, Thursday, October 27, 2016 at the Hackett-Livingston Funeral Home.

Memorial Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm, Thursday, October 27, 2016 at the Hackett-Livingston Funeral Home.
