Obituary

Suzanne Kay Johnson the daughter of John Leslie Johnson and LaVonne Arlene Anderson Johnson was born at Hand Hospital in Shenandoah, Iowa on March 29, 1949 and entered into rest on February 17, 2017 at her home in Shenandoah.

Sue spent her early life on a farm near Farragut, Iowa later moving to Louisville, Nebraska, California, Washington, and Des Moines, then back to Farragut and Shenandoah, Iowa. Sue received her GED later attending trade school in Des Moines for secretarial training, she later attended cosmetology school in Shenandoah. Sue worked early in her life at a donut shop in California, also she worked in many nursing homes, the Head Quarter Restaurant in Shenandoah, CDS in Red Oak and for many years was the owner of the Cut Off Beauty Salon in Shenandoah.

Sue was united in marriage to Ron Johnson on April 1, 1991 at their home in Shenandoah. Sue enjoyed helping people no matter what their situation in life was. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Shenandoah, Shenandoah Lions Club and Operation Christmas Child. Sue did hair at all the Shenandoah Care Facilities at one time or another, she had special friends with her Sunday school class. Anything that Sue could do to help people she was there to help. She was very crafty and was handy at doing many things.
Preceding her in death was her son Daniel McLish, daughter Shondelle A. Hale, granddaughter Emily Angel Herold, her parents John and LaVonne Johnson, and a nephew John Leslie Feikema.

Survivors include her husband Ron; son, Jim Tysor, step-children, Debbie Davis and husband Julian, Shawn Johnson and wife Suzanne; grandchildren, Jennifer Mize, Jimmy, Megan Parkhurst and husband Michael, Jesse Tysor, Reno Johnson, Shyann Johnson, Brock Davis, and Bryton Davis; great grandchildren, David, Emily and Connor Parkhurst, Zoe and Micheal Mize; Landon, Jaedeyn , Renesmee and August Johnson; sister Sandra Feikema; brothers Jim Baxter and Lyle Baxter.

Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held 10:30 am, Saturday, February 25, 2017 at the First Baptist Church in Shenandoah.

Burial of cremains will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery in Shenandoah.
