Sue Helen Dunbar, the daughter Leslie Roland and Helen Maxwell (Dunn) Dunbar, was born on May 22, 1956 in Red Oak, Iowa. She passed away on February 12, 2015 at the Shenandoah Medical Center in Shenandoah, Iowa.

Sue was born in Red Oak, Iowa, moved briefly to Hayward, California for one year before returning back to Red Oak, Iowa, then to College Springs, Iowa, so Sue could attend Nishna Productions Educational and Training Facility. She continued to be a client of NPI and resided at the client home and loved her independent living with NPI friends. With declining health, she moved to the Ambassador Nursing Home in Sidney and received much love and friendship.

She attended every Sunday with family to the Presbyterian Church. Sue also added her comments to Pastor Rick's messages.

Nishna Productions Workshop and outings brought her great joy. She had many friends, loved the bowling and dances outings. She won trophies with her athletic talents and attended Sunny Side Camps in the summer.

Sue loved motorcycles, watched wrestling (with her Hulk Hogan doll), enjoyed dancing to Lawrence Welk and attending holiday dances. Her greatest loves were dogs and babies. She loved the adventure of going on walks at times all by herself, until discovered "where's Sue?" then she'd laugh and run faster.

Sue is preceded in death by her mother Helen Dunbar, father Leslie Dunbar, nephew Chad Van Houten and niece Angela Smith.

She is survived by her sisters Emily Van Houten of Sidney, Iowa and Lynn White of Lincoln, Nebraska; nieces Colleen Ziegelbein of Lincoln, Nebraska and Lori White of Omaha, Nebraska; nephew Brady White of Georgia; great nephew, Jake Smith of Sidney, Iowa, and other great nephews and nieces of Lincoln, Nebraska, Council Bluffs and Shenandoah, Iowa.

Burial will be held at the Maple Hill Cemetery in College Springs, Iowa.
