Shirley passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2025 surrounded by her loving family at the Shenandoah Medical Center.  Graveside Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at the Veteran's Memorial Chapel in the Rose Hill Cemetery.  Memorials in her honor are suggested to the Shenandoah Community Food Pantry.

Shirley Jean Stanley was born on February 24, 1939 in Iowa City, Iowa, to LeRoy and Lola Mae (Cox) Stanley.  Shirley entered into eternal peace on Sunday, June 8, 2025 in Shenandoah, Iowa surrounded by her loving family.

Her early life was spent in the Shenandoah community. It was here that she completed her education.  On December 28, 1962, she was united in marriage to Blaine Racine in Papillion, Nebraska.  He preceded her in death on June 4, 1996.    On December 10, 2008, she was united in marriage to Charles Dorl in Norwich, Iowa.  The couple were married 5 years before his passing in December of 2013.

During Shirley's working years she was employed at Bonnie's Cafe/Shamrock Cafe, Shenandoah Ceramic Shop, Earl May Distribution Center, Hardee's (where she made the best biscuits) and Garden View Care Center.  She was a hard worker and always enjoyed working with the public.  An outing to the casino always made her day.   The foundation of her home was her family.  She loved them all so much!  Shirley always enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Blaine and  second husband Charles; brothers Richard Stanley (Shirley) and Robert "Bobby" Stanley; two additional siblings in infancy; grandson Levi Racine; nephews Michael Stanley and Jim Stanley;  brother-in-law Terry Dorl; and brothers and sisters-in-law Floyd (Evelyn) Ruby, Gene (Ella) Racine, Dale (Mary) Graham and Elton (Dorothy) Racine.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children; Stanley Racine, David (Colleen) Racine and Tanya Racine; step children Renee, Camille, Josephine, Debbie and Chuck; grandchildren Colby Racine, Jacob Racine, Denton  Racine, Samantha Racine, Connell Racine, Joseph (Shelby) Racine, Shelby Ross, Katie Ross and Anthony (Ashley) Racine; great-grandchildren Bryce, Allee, Henry, Weslee, Zoey, Gracelyn, Kalib, Damon, Christian, Amara, Luks and Zaul; brothers: Ronnie Stanley and Jerry (Karon) Stanley; former beloved daughter-in-laws Carla, Kristie and Kandi; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
