Sheryl Jean Pena, the daughter of James and Ethel (Carl) Moore, was born on February 14, 1951 at Shenandoah, Iowa and entered into rest on Saturday, September 26, 2009 in Shenandoah,.
Sheryl was raised in the Farragut, Iowa area, attended school there, graduating from Farragut High School in 1969. After graduation she worked for several years for Mount Arbor Nursery Company. She was united in marriage to Oscar Pena at Shenandoah, Iowa in 1975 by Rev. Edith Sterling. After their marriage they moved to Texas where she worked as a gardener at the Baptist Hospital in San Antonio. She moved back to Shenandoah three years ago, passing away at her twin sister Sherry's home after a year long battle with cancer. Sheryl enjoyed doing puzzle books , buying lottery tickets and spending time with her family and friends..
Survivors include her husband Oscar Pena of San Antonio, Texas; children, Oscar Pena, Jr., of Shenandoah, Iowa, Lucinda Pena of Lincoln, Nebraska, Eric Pena of Lincoln, Nebraska; her twin sister Sherry Slemp of Shenandoah, Iowa, two brothers, Carl Bettis and Harold Bettis of Shenandoah, Iowa,; nine grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren
