Sherry Jane Slemp, daughter of Robert James and Ethel Jane (Carl) Moore, was born on February 14, 1951 in rural Farragut, Iowa. Sherry passed away early Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Nebraska Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 65.

Sherry grew up in rural Farragut, Iowa attended school and graduated class of 1969. She was known as one of the Moore Twins. She had an identical twin sister Sheryl Jean and two brothers Carl and Harold Bettis.

She started working at Mount Arbors Nurseries right after graduating high school.

She was blessed with the birth of her son Eric in 1974 and her daughter Jeannie in 1978. She was united in marriage to Johny Wesley Slemp in 1980.

She enjoyed her crossword puzzles, spending time with her grandchildren, playing her Facebook games and loved spending time with her cat "Cruizer"

She is preceded in death by her parents Robert James and Ethel Jane Moore, twin sister Sheryl Jean Pena and brother Harold Bettis.

She is survived by her husband Johny Wesley Slemp of Shenandoah, son Eric Smith and wife Shelby Nye of Shenandoah, daughter Jeannie (Smith) Hinojosa and husband Jose of Shenandoah, brother Carl Bettis and wife Barbara of Shenandoah, step daughter Jessica Slemp of Whiting, Iowa, 10 grandchildren Alex, Alyssa, Briana, Eric, Paige, Maria, Denisse, Gaige, Tyler and Nicholas, three great grandchildren Mitsi, Dominic and Adrian, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and friends.

Celebration of life memorial service will be held 11am, Friday, December 9, 2016 at the Hackett-Livingston Funeral Home in Shenandoah.

Memorial visitation will be held from 5-7pm, Thursday, December 8, 2016 at the Hackett-Livingston Funeral Home in Shenandoah.

Burial of cremains will be held at a later date in the Farragut Cemetery.
