Obituary

Sheila Rae Cavanaugh, daughter of Thomas and Lavina (Aisenbrey) Cavanaugh was born on March 5, 1958 in Minot, North Dakota and entered into rest on August 26, 2007 in Shenandoah, Iowa at the age of 49.

Sheila moved with her family at an early age, first to San Diego, California then to Phoenix, Arizona where she remained until age 22. After her mother's death and father's remarriage, the family moved to Hawleyville, Iowa. Sheila began working with Nishna Productions Sheltered Workshop and moved to their group home in Shenandoah. In 1987 she was able to get her own apartment which gave her much joy. She lived her last years at Forest Park Manor. During this time, she worked at NSK in Clarinda.

Sheila was born with vision problems, but lived her life to the fullest with a smile on her face. She made many friends during her lifetime and enjoyed getting together each evening with her friends at Forest Park Manor.

Sheila loved going to church and faithfully attended Memorial Baptist Church. She looked forward to the day she would go to Heaven to be with Jesus. Her long time wish of a trip to Branson was fulfilled in the last four days of her life.

Sheila was preceded in death by her mother and father, two baby brothers, and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Cavanaugh and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Aisenbrey as well as her stepbrother, Bill Kidwell.

Sheila is survived by her sister, Cheryl Bradshaw and husband Charles, her uncle Milton Aisenbrey, her aunt Eleanor Rammel, and her uncle Vince Cavanaugh and many cousins. She is also survived by her stepmother, Marjorie Cavanaugh, stepbrother James Kidwell, a stepsister, Doris Alnoori and their families. Sheila also had numerous nieces and nephews as well as many friends including her special friend Greg Warnemunde.

Celebration of life services were held on Thursday, August 30, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. at the Hackett-Livingston Funeral Home in Shenandoah. Words of comfort were given by Rev. Fred Pearrow. Attending the register book was Debbie Pope. Casket bearers were Jan Kidwell, Kevin Kidwell, Brent Kidwell, Doug Fidler, Kent Fidler and Justin Fidler. Interment was in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Shenandoah. Memorials are being directed to the Memorial Baptist Church in Shenandoah. The Hackett-Livingston Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
