Obituary

Sharon was born on March 11, 1932, in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Florence (Wilson) Osmundson Giacomozzi and Earl Osmundson. She passed away at age 89 on November 14, 2021, in Lynchburg, Virginia.

She moved several times with her family during her younger years and graduated from high school in Idaho Falls in 1950. On July 20, 1952, she married Robert D. Paulus. They moved to Shenandoah, Iowa, for Bob's work, and both quickly grew to love Shenandoah, where they raised their boys and made many good, lifelong friends. In 1978, they moved to Louisiana, Missouri, for Bob's work, where they continued to make good friends and memories. Upon Bob's retirement, they returned to Shenandoah, and Sharon would comment that it felt like they never left.   Bob and Sharon were able to celebrate their 61st anniversary before his death in early 2014.

Sharon loved playing Bridge. She was active in Garden Club, Book Club, PEO, and the First Methodist Church, as well as following the activities of her two sons, David and Richard. She had a passionate love of dogs, and she loved to read, cook, entertain, make crafts, and both she and Bob loved antiques and gardening. She was extremely proud of her grandchildren and loved hearing and seeing the antics of her great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Bob Paulus, and her granddaughter, Jennie Paulus. She is survived by her sons, Dave (Joan) and Rick (Milene) Paulus. Also surviving are her pride and joys, her 6 grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Bethanie (Curtis) Shell, Andrew (Silvia) Paulus, Molly (Nick) Jensen, Joshua and Grace, Kate (Josh) Redell, Nathan (Katharine Jackson) Paulus, and Ryan (Danika) Hill Paulus and Caspian.

In lieu of flowers, memorials that benefit the Alzheimer's Association or Make-A-Wish would be close to the family's heart.
