Obituary

Sarah Ann (Vassar) Moore was born on September 17, 1986 in Iron Mountain, Michigan. Sarah entered into peace on Saturday, December 6, 2008 in Macedonia, Iowa from the injuries she received from a car accident.

Sarah was a young lady with a free spirit. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, writing poetry, and horseback riding. When she became a mother to her beautiful daughter MaKenna, her life started to take on new meaning. She was a member of the Shenandoah Congregational Church, Storks Nest, New Beginnings, AA and NA.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter MaKenna Nicole Esshelman of Shenandoah; parents Suzanne Looper and husband Kent of Shenandoah and Robert Vassar and wife Nancy of Summit Lake, WI; grandparents; grandmothers Della LeMay of Iron Mountain, MI and Mary Looper of Shenandoah; brother Jeremiah Vassar and special friend Krystal of Shenandoah; sisters Michelle Carnes and husband Tyler of Clarinda and Daisy Patel and husband Ricki; aunts and uncles Dennis and Kim Vassar, James and Evelyn Vassar, William and Marilyn Vassar, Patrick and Kathy Vassar, Faye Vassar, Donald and Sandy Baker, George and Malinda Baker, Chad and Kathy Looper, Joseph and Patricia LeMay, Edward and Dena Nowlin and William LeMay, Jr.; nephews Josyah Vassar and Ty Carnes, Jr.; niece Zara Beth Patel; many cousins, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her brothers Leslie Samual and Sebastian Don; sisters Iris, Ida and Anastasia Belle; grandparents; Dorothy Vassar, Arlington Vassar, Ruth Morrell, William LeMay and Adrian Looper; and uncles Kenneth and Jerold Vassar.

Funeral Services were held on Thursday, December 11, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Congregational Church with Rev. Allen Bash offering the words of comfort. Mandy Manrose and Nick Heilen attended the memorial regisiter. Special music for the service included "The Old Rugged Cross", "Amazing Grace" (the bagpipe version), "Don't Blink", "Crossroads" and "Butterfly Kisses". Serving as casket bearers were Jamie Dinges,Steve Pritchett
Charlie Binau III,Curtie Mattox,Jeremiah Wake and Ricki Patel. Honorary casket bearers were Angie Anderzon, Mary Pelster, and Sarah Kimberling.

Memorials may be directed to the First National Bank in Shenandoah in her daughter MaKenna's memory.
