Sarah Alice "Sally" (Riley) Conners was born on May 10, 1922 in Maryville, MO the daughter of Elmer Glade and Rose Mary (Wilmus) Riley. Sally entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at the Elm Heights Care Center in Shenandoah, Iowa.

Sally attended St. Patrick Catholic Academy and completed her senior year at Shenandoah High School. She was united in marriage to Thomas Michael Conners, Jr. They resided in Shenandoah following their marriage and then moved to Imogene for a number of years. Upon Tom's passing, Sally returned to Shenandoah.

During her working years Sally was employed by the telephone office in Imogene, Henry Fields, KMA, owned Conners' Caf in Farragut and worked in the Imogene Post Office. Above all her job titles, the one she held most dear, was that of mother. She was a loving and supportive wife, devoted mother, and caring grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was a member of the St. Patrick Altar Society. Some of her interests included playing cards, working on crossword puzzles, playing BINGO, dancing and planting and taking care of her flowers.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Maxine Toay and husband Tom. Those left to cherish her memory include children Pat Conners and friend Betsy of Des Moines, IA, Becky Hughes and husband Kim of Imogene, IA and Karen Lemkau and husband Brad of Omaha, NE; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister Betty Hodges of Farragut; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.

Memorials may be directed to the St. Patrick Catholic Church Building Fund, Elm Heights Care Center or the Madonna School in Omaha.
