Obituary

Russell Douglas Patience was born September 30, 1927 to George Wesley and Cora Ester (Wood) Patience in Imogene, Iowa. He passed away December 14, 2013 at the age of 86.
He grew up in several Southwest Iowa communities and graduated from Coin High School in 1947. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1946 to 1947. He was united in marriage to Patricia Mae Spies on December 9, 1948 in Shenandoah, Iowa.
Russell was a delivery man for Roberts Dairy Company from 1952 to 1991 and a custodian for Hartman Elementary School from 1991 to 2001. He always enjoyed puttering, socializing, and keeping a small garden. He was a member of the Community of Christ Church (RLDS) and Union Teamster in Omaha, NE. Family was very important and he loved visiting family. He was also a dear friend to many people.
He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Patience in 1993, parents George and Cora Patience, and several siblings. He is survived by his son Terry Patience and wife Cindy of Independence, MO, daughter Penny Udey and husband Mark of Stromburg, NE, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
