Ruby Marianne (Truex) Woods was born on February 28, 1932 in Colfax, Washington, the daughter of Charles Henry and Anna Evelyn (Ellis) Truex. Ruby entered into eternal peace on July 5, 2013 at the Garden View Care Center in Shenandoah, Iowa.
Ruby was united in marriage to Loyd Charles Carter on May 13, 1948 and to this union, four children were born. While they were married they resided in California and Iowa. Following Loyd's death she moved back to the Shenandoah area. Later, Ruby was united in marriage to Edward Woods. During this time she worked for Lake's and Mount Arbor Nurseries. In 1985 she retired to start babysitting.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading, bowling, collecting angels and salt and pepper shakers. Listening to country and gospel music, brought her much joy. Ruby had a very kind and loving heart.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Loyd and Edward; her parents; three brothers, Bill, John, and George; and a son Charles.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children Lloyd Carter and wife Charlene of Essex, IA, Byron Carter and wife Tina of Coin, IA and Ruby Strange and husband Russell of Shenandoah, IA; step-daughter Karen Smith of Indiana; sister Charlyn Glomb and husband Calvin of Bellevue, NE; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; other relatives and a host of friends.
