Rosemary A. (Delehant) Mauer
Rosemary Ann Mauer, daughter of Michael Edmund and Mary Ellen (Ryan) Delehant was born on June 3, 1933, at Imogene, Iowa. She passed away on Friday, March 31, 2006, at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 72.
Her early life was spent growing up on the family farm at Imogene. She attended St. Patrick's High School in Imogene, graduating with the Class of 1951.
On November 11, 1954, Rosemary was united in marriage to Dareld Eugene Mauer at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Imogene. Together they farmed in the Imogene area until 1969, when they purchased Wambolt's Resort in Park Rapids, Minnesota. Together they ran the resort until 2002, before Dareld passed away in May of 2003. Prior to her marriage Rosemary worked at the Security Trust and Savings Bank in Shenandoah from 1951 to 1954.
Rosemary was a member of the Mantrap Valley Conservation Club Auxiliary in Park Rapids, Minnesota and was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Imogene. She enjoyed gardening, reading, playing cards, traveling to visit her children and grandchildren and spending the winter months in Arizona.
Preceding Rosemary in death were her husband; son, Jerome Eugene Mauer; infant son, Dareld Edmund Mauer; and her parents. Survivors include her children, Kathryn Mauer of Phoenix, AZ, James Mauer and wife Lisa of Arvada, CO, Karen Mauer of Cumberland, IA, and Joseph Mauer and wife Deborah of Ramsey, MN; eight grandchildren, James, Jacob, Joshua, Jared and Jay Mauer, Sarah and Matthew Thomsen, and Joseph Mauer; five brothers and sisters, Michael Delehant and wife Trish of Imogene, IA, Joan Bruce and husband Larry of Red Oak, IA, Rita Hurst of Shenandoah, IA, Patricia Erickson of Clinton, IA, and Donald Delehant and wife Polly of Shenandoah, IA; brother-in-law, Donald Mauer and wife Doris; other relatives and many friends.
Mass of Christian Burial was held on Wednesday, April 5, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Imogene. Celebrant was the Rev. Kenneth Gross. Altar servers were Austine Nelson and Mariah Johnson. Lector was Jake McGargill. Soloist was Jane Emge and organist was Mary Beth Gowing. Musical selections were "The Old Rugged Cross", "On Eagles Wings", "Ave Maria" and "Amazing Grace". Attending the memory register were Juli Hurst and Kim Hurst. Caring for the flowers were Betty Edwards, Debbie Bruce, Diane Bruce and Cindy Akins. Ushers were Carl Maher and Justin Owens. Casket bearers were James Mauer, Jacob Mauer, Joshua Mauer, Jared Mauer, Jay Mauer, Sarah Thomsen, Matthew Thomsen and Joseph Mauer. Interment was in the Mount Calvary Cemetery in Imogene. The Hackett-Livingston Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
