Rosalie was born on November 30, 1942 in Shenandoah, Iowa, the daughter of Robert Ward and Wanda Lee (Searl) Finlay. Rosalie entered into the arms of the Lord on Tuesday evening; October 21, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Rosie attended school in Coin and Farragut until the 8th grade. She continued her education in Shenandoah. On April 23, 1960 she was united in marriage to Donnie McCoy in Clarinda, Iowa and to this union four children were born. The couple resided in Clarinda and Shenandoah before making their home in Northboro.

Rosie worked side by side her family at their business, "McCoy Locker" from 1970-2008. She was a dedicated mother who was always there for her family. She was a member of the Northboro Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, the Northboro Betterment Club and also served as a Cub Scout Leader. Rosie also belonged to several Pinochle and Bridge groups in Northboro. She enjoyed cooking and was very talented in the kitchen. She served many delicious meals to her family and for the community over the years.

She was preceded in death by her father Robert Finlay and by an infant sister Karen Finlay.

Those left to honor her memory include her children Tammy Braymen and husband Glen of Shenandoah, Angie McCoy of Westboro, Jim McCoy of Northboro, and Drs. Jeff McCoy and wife Wendy of Coin; eight grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; mother Wanda Finlay of Shenandoah, sister Jackie Gleason and husband Ken of Essex and brothers Bob Finlay and Dan Finlay and wife Deb all of Shenandoah; other relatives and many friends.

Remembrance Services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday; October 24, 2008 at the Hackett-Livingston Funeral Home with Rev. James "Buck" Buckhahn officiating. Attending to the memory register was Sherry Barnes while Becky Parmenter cared for the flowers. One of Rosie's favorite songs, "Angels Among Us" was played in her honor. Inurnment followed in the Union Grove Cemetery in Northboro, Iowa.
