Rosa Mae Jaeckel, daughter of George W. and Hannah B. (Nelson) Fecher, was born on November 22, 1915 in Atchison County, Missouri. She passed on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Garden View Care Center in Shenandoah, Iowa.
Rosa grew up and was raised in rural Missouri around the Westboro area. She attended rural school at Bartlett, Missouri then High School at Westboro for three years.
On April 17, 1940 she was united in marriage to Paul E. Jaeckel in Hamburg, Iowa. They resided in Shenandoah.
Rosa was a farm wife and mother until her mid 50's; then worked for F.W. Woolsworth. Later she worked for Henry Field's, cleaned homes and did alterations and sewing.
Rosa was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church until 2002. Then attended Nishna Valley Christian Church. She was a 27 year member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Rose loved to garden, fish, sew and go to garage sales.
Rosa was preceded in death by her husband Paul E. Jaeckel, parents William and Hannah Fecher, sisters Ruth Fecher as an infant, Mabel Jaeckel and Lois Comstock, brother Donald Fecher and granddaughter Diana Delehant.
Rosa is survived by her children Katherine Green and husband Ron of Shenandoah, Larry Jaeckel and wife Nancy of Essex and Dwight Jaeckel of Shenandoah, sister Irene Wallen, five grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren, six step grandchildren, 17 step great-grandchildren and four nephews.
Burial will be held at the Farragut Cemetery in Farragut, Iowa.
