Ronald Marvin Orme was born July 16th, 1943, in Clarinda Iowa and passed away on Sunday, January 28th, 2024. Ronald was the oldest of two children of Marvin and Arlene Orme. Ronald grew up on the farm in Guss, Iowa and throughout his life had a passion for farming. He attended country school through the 8th grade and then moved on to attend High School in New Market, Iowa. Graduating with the Class of 1961.

While in High School, he played football and baseball and was involved with Choir. In his off time, he often worked as a hired hand on several farms and also worked for an electrician part time in Braddyville, Iowa. As he neared graduation from High School, he considered full time careers as a barber, an air traffic control specialist, and an electrician. He liked the work associated with being an electrician and given he had experience in this area, after high school graduation, he was able to get a full-time job working as an electrician in Omaha Nebraska.

Around this same time, Ronald met the love of his life, Rozella Shadduck, who was working as a car hop (on roller skates!) at the Shenandoah A&W. On June 14th, 1964, Ronald and Rozella were married and moved into a small apartment in Omaha, Nebraska. By this time, Ronald had progressed to be a full Journeyman electrician working for OK Electric in Omaha, Nebraska and Rozella was working as a receptionist at a beauty shop.

In the fall of 1965, Ronald and Rozella missed the small-town life, and decided to return to Shenandoah, Iowa to start their own electrical business. Ronald and Rozella had two children, Todd and Teresa. When the kids got older, Rozella returned to school to pursue her lifelong desire to become a nurse. Ronald continued his pursuit of running the electrical business and farming.

Besides family, Ron had two passions in his life. Farming, and restoring antique and collectable cars of the 1950's. His favorite car was the 1959 Ford Retractable that while as a kid, he had seen a Desi and Lucy Arnaz TV commercial highlighting the brand-new Ford 1959 Hardtop convertible that left a lasting impression and desire to have one. He achieved that goal in 1982 with his first purchase of a Ford "Retractable" and over the preceding decades, he owned, restored, and sold many classic Fords including 50's convertibles, Ford Thunderbirds and Mustangs. He also entered national level show car events for the Ford retractable and became known as "The one who could make the top work correctly".

Ronald is preceded in death by his wife Rozella Orme,  parents Marvin and Arlene Orme and sister Nancy Ackley. Survivors include his son Todd and wife Kristine, grandchildren Lindsey, Trevor, and Tyler Orme of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Daughter Teresa Orme and grandchild Trenton Turney of Shenandoah, Iowa. Sister-in-law Sherlynn Shadduck of Nebraska City, Nebraska. Brother-in-law Paul Ackley of Bedford, Iowa and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
