Obituary

Ron passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at his home in Shenandoah, Iowa.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at the First Baptist Church in Shenandoah. Burial will follow in the Monroe Cemetery in rural Imogene, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to the family.

On January 24, 1945 in Shenandoah, Iowa a son, Ronald Wayne Johnson was born to Ira and Imogene Rice-Davis Johnson. Ron was raised in the Shenandoah community where he attended school. While in school he played football and basketball. Ron was a graduate of Shenandoah High School. He later enlisted in The National Guard.

On July 6, 1963 he was united in marriage to his beloved Mary. From this union three children were born; Pamela, Debbie and Shawn. The couple were married for 23 years until Mary's passing. On April 1, 1991 he was united in marriage to Sue Johnson. They were blessed with 26 years of marriage until Sue's passing. During his working years Ron was employed at Mount Arbor Nurseries, Earl May, was a co-owner of two restaurants, did many caterings and later retired from Eaton's. He then started his own lawn care business called Ron's Lawns.

Ron was a member of the Memorial Baptist Church and later the First Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, traveling and spending time with his grandchildren. Ron entered into eternal peace on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at his home in Shenandoah. He was surrounded by his loving family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wives Mary and Sue; his daughter Pamela; step-daughter Shondelle Tysor; step-son Dan; granddaughter Emily Herold and brother Donni. Those left to cherish his memory include his children Shawn Johnson and Debbie (Julian) Davis; step-son Jim Tysor; step-granddaughter Megan (Ronnie) Dolph; grandchildren Brock Davis, Bryton Davis, Reno Johnson, Shyann Johnson, Tristian Johnson, Jennifer Mize, Jimmy Cochran and Jesse Tysor ; 9 great-grandchildren.; brother Ottis (Laura) Johnson and sister Doris (Bud) Livermore other relatives and friends.
