Rodney Kent Wilcoxson, son of Barbara (Benedict) and Armon Johnson and Ervin and Debbie Wilcoxson, was born on June 15, 1965 in Shenandoah, Iowa and entered into eternal rest on January 29, 2016 in Greenfield, Iowa.

Rodney grew up in Imogene, Iowa. He attended Farragut and Shenandoah, schools graduating from Shenandoah High School in 1985. Rodney while in high school set records in track and at the Drake Relays in Des Moines. Rod attended college at Southwest Community College in Creston, Iowa, where he became a certified mechanic and welder. Rod worked as a mechanic and welder and did auto body restoration until his health had him take medical retirement.

Rodney was married to Bess Kessler, to this union was born Colleen Nicole. Bess also had two sons Blade and Dan Martick, that Rodney took in until he and Bess divorces. Rodney was later married to Shelly Shane and had a daughter Shelbi Noelle. Rodney also acquired stepsons Matthew and Steven Shane that he claimed as his own. Rodney and Shelly were also divorced.

Rodney loved the Lord first and foremost, and he loved his family. His children and grandchildren were his inspiration. Rod like to hunt and fish. He had quite a shot glass collection and also collected salt and pepper shakers.

Rodney was a tissue donor, wanting to give others the way others had given to him.

Rodney moved to Greenfield, Iowa in August 2015 to be closer to his daughters and grandchildren.

Rodney was preceded in death by his parents, Barbara and Armon Johnson and Ervin and Debbie Wilcoxson; sisters Rose Wilcoxson Murphy, Pauletta Johnson Doppelhammer, and Erma Johnson Guill; brother-in-law Myrl Murphy; nephews, Brian Kinney, Jeff McEnaney and Seth Padilla.

Survivors include daughters; Colleen (Wilcoxson) Denton and husband Cole and Shelbi Wilcoxson of Greenfield, Iowa; sons Matthew Shane and Steven Shane of Shenandoah; honorary daughter-in-law Nicole Hinds of Hamburg; grandchildren Savanna and Hunter Ray of Greenfield, Iowa, Hadlee Schoonover and Kerdryck Binau of Shenandoah, Iowa, Cayden, Landon and Athena Hinds of Hamburg, Iowa. He is also survived by a sisters; Sue (David) Kinney and Kay (Leon) McEnaney of Shenandoah, Iowa, Ronda (Jim) Shane of Mayetta, Kansas, Mary (Steve) McAllister of Greenwood, Florida, Tina (Curtis) Nail of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, Amanda Corzette of Ottumwa, Iowa; brothers, Eddie (Patricia) Johnson of Corning, Iowa, Emmit Johnson and Fred (Diane) Strunk of Shenandoah, Iowa, Ervin (Michelle) Murphy of Council Bluffs, Iowa; brother-in-laws, Roger Doppelhammer of Ely, Minnesota and Dale Guill of Springfield, Missouri, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Burial will be held at the Monroe Cemetery in Imogene, Iowa.
