Robert "Bob" D. Paulus was born October 5, 1927 to Edward and Olga (Gustafson) Paulus in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Bob passed away January 7, 2014 at Eastmont Towers in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 86.
Bob was born and raised in Idaho Falls, Idaho, after graduating high school he served in the U.S. Army from 1945-1947. He then attending and graduated from the University of Idaho with a Masters degree in Horticulture.
Bob was united in marriage to Sharon C. Osmundson on July 20, 1952 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They moved to Shenandoah and he worked for Lakes Nurseries for 25 years. They then moved to Louisiana, Missouri for 15 years before moving back to Shenandoah after he retired.
Bob was a member of the First United Methodist Church serving on many boards at the church. He was active in several civic organizations through the years while in Shenandoah including, Shenandoah City Council, Shenandoah Library Board, Board of Directors for Byron Union Oil Company, President of Iowa Nursery Association, Masonic Lodge, Rotary Club and May Mentoring Program.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter Jennie Paulus, and brother-in-law Jim Bennett. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Sharon Paulus of Shenandoah, sons Dr. David Paulus and wife Joan of Lincoln, Nebraska and Richard Paulus and wife Milene of Jacksonville, Illinois, six grandchildren Bethanie Paulus, Andrew Paulus, Molly Jensen and husband Nicholas, Kate Paulus, Nate Paulus and Ryan Paulus and sister Sharon Bennett of Idaho Falls, Idaho, other relatives and a host of friends.
Memorials are being directed to the Alzheimer's Foundation in Bob's name.
