Obituary

Richard Dean Trippler, the child of Knowles Clough and Ines (Matzke) Trippler was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on January 11, 1945. Richard entered into eternal peace on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at his home in Shenandoah, Iowa.

He spent his early years growing up in Canova, South Dakota. He graduated from Canova Public Schools in 1963. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1966-1970 as a air traffic controller. He controlled air traffic in and out of Vietnam. In 1973, he graduated from Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, Minnesota. On April 6, 1973 he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Janis Oakes in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The couple was blessed with the birth of two children Richard and Anne. In 1990 they moved to Shenandoah, Iowa from St. Joseph, Missouri.

He enjoyed pheasant, quail and duck hunting, golf, live theater and opera. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and American Legion Post 88 of Shenandoah.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents Knowles and Ines Trippler. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Elizabeth J. Trippler of Shenandoah, son Richard J. Trippler of Columbia, Missouri, daughter, Anne E. Griffin and husband Ryan of Columbia, Missouri, grandsons William Trippler and Marcus James Griffin of Columbia, Missouri.
