Richard Glasgo was born on May 10, 1938 in Shenandoah, Iowa; the son of Earl and Mary (Hayes) Glasgo. Richard entered into eternal rest on Sunday, November 16, 2008 after a brief illness.

Richard's early years were spent in the Shenandoah and Essex communities. He was a graduate of Essex High School. He also served in the National Guard for several years.

On April 7, 1973 he was united in marriage to Terry Shipley in Denver, Colorado. Richard and Terry were blessed to have recently celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary. The couple made their home in Denver before moving back to Shenandoah. They later moved to Bethany, Missouri and most recently to Hollister, Missouri.

During his working days Richard was employed at Pella while living in Shenandoah, did janitorial work when they lived in Bethany and most recently worked as a security guard for Branson Hills. The couple enjoyed attending Branson Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) together.

Some of his hobbies included fishing, bowling, attending the stock car races and watching and attending rodeos. He especially enjoyed the bull riders. On Sunday afternoons the couple enjoyed going for long drives in the Branson area and attending the many shows that Branson has to offer.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Don and Jerry Glasgo.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Terry Glasgo of Hollister, Missouri; children Tracey Reynolds, Curtis Glasgo and Allan Glasgo; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brothers Ronnie Glasgo and wife Sue of Galena, Missouri, J.D. Glasgo, Larry Glasgo and wife Lorna and Bill Glasgo and wife Tish all of Essex, Iowa; sisters Nancy Drake and husband Don of Wilton, Iowa and Connie Quist and husband Doug of Shenandoah, Iowa; other relatives and dear friends.

Funeral Services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2008 at the Hackett-Livingston Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Lamb officiating. Richard's niece Shelli Pike attended the memorial register. Special music for the service which included "Precious Lord, Take My Hand" and "Beyond The Sunset" was provided by Dr. Charles Peterson and Becky Hoenshel. Serving as Honorary Casket Bearers were Bert Shipley, Max Nelson, Ed Anderson, Gene McMullen, Ed Dannar, Dave Linebaugh and Jim Shipley. Memorials in Richard's name, may be directed to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. A memorial service will be held in Branson, Missouri in honor of Richard at a date yet to be determined.
