On May 13, 2022, Richard "Rick" Earl Gorby passed away peacefully after a brief but courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his sons.

Rick was the last of six children born to Glenn and Ruth (Lavoy) Gorby on January 9, 1944 in Allegan, Michigan.

Rick grew up in Allegan, a small town in Southwest Michigan where he began working at any early age in his local family's 5 and 10 store.  He moved on to the Eaton Corporation, and after many decades of dedicated employment, he retired in 2001.

After retirement, Rick travelled in his camper to Minnesota, where he met many new friends and enjoyed his time there fishing and spending time with his dog Daisy.  During the winter months he travelled to Arizona to spend the months in the warmth of the sunshine.

Rick is survived by his sons, Brent (Lisa) Gorby and Ross (Dionne) Gorby.  One granddaughter Alix Gorby and his great-granddaughter Emery Higgins. His special friends Paul and Percilla Lattin.  He is also survived by his brothers Glenn and Ted and his sisters Molly and Shirley and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Beverley, and his grandson Colton Gorby.
