Richard Alan Beach, son of Robert E. and Loy (Ashbaugh) Beach, was born on September 25, 1949, in Shenandoah, Iowa. He passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2006, at his home in Spring Hill, Kansas, at the age of 56.
Growing up in Shenandoah, Richard attended the Shenandoah Community Schools and graduated from Shenandoah High School with the Class of 1967. He received his undergraduate degree from Iowa State University. Richard was an agronomist and had a career working in the agricultural chemical industry in the states of Iowa, Missouri and Kansas.
Survivors include his son, Christopher Beach of Lawrence, Kansas; Christopher's mother, Pamela Beach of Overland Park, Kansas; his parents, Robert and Loy Beach of Shenandoah, Iowa; sister, Mary Ann Brannen and brothers, Robert, Jr. and John Beach, all of Shenandoah, Iowa; other relatives and many friends.
Memorial services were held on Friday, March 17, 2006, at 1:30 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Chapel at Rose Hill Cemetery in Shenandoah. Words of comfort were given by the Rev. James Gubser. Inurnment was in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
