Raymond Earl Cooper the son of Elmer J. and Nea (Andrews) Cooper was born on November 5, 1927 at Shenandoah, Iowa. He entered into rest at the Grandville Villa Assisted Living on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at the age of 90.

Bud grew up in Shenandoah and graduated from Shenandoah High School. On August 10, 1947 he was married to Doris Mascher after their marriage they lived in Farragut, Iowa later Shenandoah. Bud worked for the White Rose Gas Station until he was drafted into the U.S. Navy in 1951 later being drafted into the U.S. Air Force in 1952 where he began his U.S. Air Force career for 20 years retiring in 1972. While in the U.S. Air Force he and Doris were stationed in Mercede, California, Denver, Colorado, Anchorage, Alaska, Lincoln, Nebraska, Sioux St. Marie, Michigan, Tucson, Arizona, again in Anchorage, Alaska. After retirement from the U.S. Air Force Bud and Doris made their home in Shenandoah, Iowa. After retirement from the U.S. Air Force, Bud began his career at Eaton Manufacturing in Shenandoah where he worked for 20 years. After his retirement from Easton's he worked part time for J and R Furniture and Shenandoah Floral Company.

Bud was a man for all seasons enjoying fishing, camping, traveling, woodworking, gardening, building model airplanes. You could find Bud from time to time at the Casino which he enjoyed.

Preceding him in death was his beloved wife Doris in November of 2016, his parents Elmer and Nea Cooper, a sister Dorothy Barrett.

Survivors include his son Michael Ray Cooper of Denver, Colorado; daughter Deborah Wilson and her husband Joel of Omaha, Nebraska; grandsons, Drew Wilson and Megan O'Hern of Omaha, Nebraska, and Kyle Wilson and wife Teresa of Boynton Beach, Florida and their children Cooper, Margaret and Grace Wilson; brother Kenneth Cooper and wife Betty of Shelbyville, Texas, and sister Mary Lillie and husband Bob of Grand Junction, Colorado; along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Celebration of life funeral service will be held 2:00 pm, Friday, December 15, 2017 at the Hackett-Livingston Funeral Home in Shenandoah.

Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm, Friday, December 15, 2017 at the Hackett-Livingston Funeral Home in Shenandoah.

Burial will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery in Shenandoah with military rites provided by Shenandoah American Legion Post #88 Color Guard.

Memorials may be directed to donor's charity of choice.
