Obituary

Randall Ray Reafleng was born on October 7,1953 in Council Bluffs, Iowa, the son of Bobby Cleve and Charlotte Gertrude (Lidgett) Reafleng.  Randy entered into eternal peace on Tuesday evening, August 23, 2022 in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 68 years.  His loving and supportive family stayed by his side until his journey here on earth had been completed.
Randy's early years were spent in the communities of Pacific Junction and Glenwood.  He graduated from Glenwood High School with the Class of 1971, graduating a full year ahead of schedule.  Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army on September 16, 1971.  He served his country with pride until he was honorably discharged on May 9, 1973.  He then attended college for agriculture.
On February 16,1979 in Rock Port, Missouri he was united in marriage to Melanie Ann Stogdill.  Following their marriage, the couple made their home in Red Oak.  Later on, they moved to Farragut where they currently reside.  During his working years Randy owned and operated Nishna Electric in Glenwood, worked in maintenance for Vogel Popcorn, Minsa and was the facility maintenance director at the Shenandoah Medical Center.  Randy was the current owner of Randy's Lawn Service.  He enjoyed working with his hands and had a sharp mind for fixing and repairing things.
He was a member of the Farragut United Methodist Church, where he could often be seen mowing the church lawn.  He enjoyed participating in extreme sports such as scuba diving, skydiving and parasailing.  He had a spirit for adventure and a true zest for life.  He had a deep love for his family and enjoyed spending time with them whenever possible.  Randy was a great friend and will be deeply missed by those whose lives he touched.
He was welcomed into heaven by his parents, Bobby and Charlotte Reafleng; son Bobby C. Reafleng; and daughter in infancy Kristie Marie Reafleng.  Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 43 years Melanie of the home; children Lisa Reafleng of Council Bluffs, Amy Reafleng (Kevin Sciranko) and James (Catie) Reafleng all of Shenandoah; siblings Judy (Clayton) Lang and Robert (Chris) Reafleng both of Hamburg; grandchildren Damian, Devon, Dominique, Chase, Thomas, Amber, Dakota, David, Treyton, Landen and Isabelle; three great-grandchildren; two great-step grandchildren; other relatives and a host of friends.
