R. Dale Morrison, 1809 400thAvenue, Shenandoah, IA, was born January 8, 1928 in Pawnee City, Nebraska to William Hubert and Neta (Gallas) Morrison. At the age of three, he moved with his parents and two older brothers to a farm near Burchard, NE. He was a member of the Mission Creek Presbyterian Church near their home and went to "Corn Cob," a rural school, for the first eight years of his education.

Dale finished high school at Barneston, NE. in 1945. However he joined the Merchant Marines, and reported for duty at Catalina Island, California prior to graduation. Upon discharge from the service, he attended the United Presbyterian College in Tarkio, Missouri, and graduated Cum Laude in 1951. Tarkio is where he met the love of his life and life long partner, Iris Teachout. They were united in marriage July 26, 1953 at the Methodist Church in Shenandoah.

After marrying, the couple returned to the area where Dale grew up, near Liberty, Nebraska, and engaged in farming for six years. In 1959, they moved with children Randy, Bill, and Amy to the current farm location northwest of Shenandoah. In 1961, they moved into their newly built farm home. Their family was complete with the arrival of Susie in 1963.

Dale, Iris, and family joined the First Presbyterian Church in Shenandoah, where Dale served on various church committees and was a session member. He and Iris also lead the youth fellowship group for a number of years. Second to farming was Dale's enjoyment of buying and restoring cars and watching Nebraska Cornhusker football games.

Dale was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and a friend to all who knew him. He appreciated his farmland, each season, and enjoyed all that life brought him.

Preceding Dale in death was his son Randy Morrison, daughter Susie Schaaf, parents Hubert and Neta Morrison, and brother Hubert Morrison and his wife Betty.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Iris Morrison of Shenandoah, son Bill Morrison of Baldwin City, KS and his sons Marshall, Cody, and Tommy Morrison, daughter Amy Kelley of Farragut and her son Darren Kelley and wife Allysia, son-in-law Grant Schaaf of Randolph and his children Preston, Olivia and Clara Schaaf, daughter-in-law Lesha Morrison of Charleston, SC and her children Zach Morrison and Molly McCabe and husband Ryan and their son Declan, brother Dean Morrison and wife Grace of North Carolina, host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
