Pranda Sue Hale, daughter of Floyd Fike, Sr., and Thelma (Homan) Fike, was born on January 14, 1948 in Shenandoah, Iowa. She passed away on Tuesday afternoon, August 4, 2015, at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa, at the age of 67 years, 6 months, 13 days.
Her early life was spent growing up in the Shenandoah and and Essex, Iowa area where she attended both the Shenandoah and Essex Community Schools. Pranda worked at Mount Arbor Nurseries for many years.
On May 23, 1968, Pranda was united in marriage to the love of her life, Ottis Lee Hale, Sr. in Omaha, Nebraska. Following their marriage they made their home in Essex. To this union four children were born: Zaccheus, Kathy, Ottis, Jr. and Jessica.
In her spare time, Pranda enjoyed bowling, shopping and going to auctions. She loved watching volleyball and basketball. She especially loved watching football, and her favorite team, the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Preceding Pranda in death were her parents; two sisters, Lee Ellen Allumbaugh and Patricia Carlson. Survivors include her husband of over 47 years, Ottis Lee Hale, Sr. of Essex, IA; four children, Zaccheus Hale of California, Kathy Hale of Red Oak, IA, Ottis Hale, Jr. and wife Sherrie of Essex, IA and Jessica Hale of Red Oak, IA; 12 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; sister, Mary Jo Smith and husband Verlin of Essex, IA; brother, Alvin Fike and wife Sandra of Essex, IA; other relatives and many friends.
Memorials are being directed to the family. Burial will be in the Essex Cemetery.
