Peggy "Pat" May Benjamin, daughter of Ulysses S. Grant Maddox and Florence Viola Harrell, was born on February 2, 1948 in Tulare, California; the family migrated there during the Dust Bowl from Oklahoma. She entered into the arms of her Lord on Saturday, June 8, 2019, at the Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 71 years, 4 months, 3 days.

When Pat was two years old the family moved back to Oklahoma. She grew up in and around the Shawnee area. Following high school, she started classes at Oklahoma State Technical College. She met John Benjamin while attending college and they were married April 1, 1969 in Oklahoma. After graduation from college, she and John came to Shenandoah to run Shenandoah Printing/Rodeo Printers Inc. They bought the printing company from John's parents. They ran Rodeo Printing for 33 years, from 1971 until retiring in 2004. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church and Ladies Auxiliary of Williams-Jobe-Gibson American Legion Post #128 in Sidney.

She loved having her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids come to the farm. She enjoyed tole painting, crocheting and boating with John.

Preceding Pat in death was her husband John Benjamin (2015), her parents, Ulysses and Florence Maddox and her sister, Josie Hobbs. Survivors include her two children, Lori Stevens and her husband Jim and Todd Benjamin and his wife Deborah; five grandchildren, Teia Bergen, Tyler Ellis and his wife Ashley, Piper Allen and her husband Travis, Zach Ellis and Lucian Benjamin; six great-grandchildren, Ben Bergen, Grace Bergen, Harper Allen, Edgar Allen, Damian Ellis and Elowyn Allen; one brother, Bobby Maddox, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Celebration of life memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 14, 2019 at the St. John's Episcopal Church in Shenandoah, Iowa. Visitation with the family will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 14, 2019 at the church. Memorials may be directed to the family.
