Paul Michael Laughlin of Imogene, Iowa passed away Thursday, March 20, 2025, at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital, after a long battle with cancer.  He was born March 8, 1965, in Shenandoah, Iowa to Michael "Bud" and Margaret Knott Laughlin of Imogene, Iowa.

In 1966, Bud and Margaret bought a farm west of Griswold, Iowa.  Paul attended school at Carson-Macedonia through his sophomore year.  In 1981, the family moved back to the family farm in Imogene.  Paul graduated from Farragut High School in 1983.  He was a quarterback in football and his jersey number was 22.  That number went with him throughout his life.  He started racing dirt bikes and each bike had the #22 on it.  He loved that sport and did very well.

Paul went to Iowa Lakes Community College and received his diploma in motorcycle mechanics.  Most of his life he was involved in construction.  This work took him to several states.  His last job was in Shenandoah.  His favorite hobby was riding his motorcycles.  He took many long road trips and made friends along the way.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Larry and William "Billy" Laughlin.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sister Margine Henry of Council Bluffs, Iowa; brothers Thomas Laughlin and wife Wilma of Red Oak, Iowa and Duane Laughlin and wife Sondra of Griswold, Iowa; nieces and nephews Robert, Angie, Craig, Jennifer, Trevor and Jessica; great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.  Paul also had a host of biker brothers and sisters that meant so much to him.

Memorial graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, May 4, 2025 at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Imogene.  Following the graveside service refreshments and fellowship will be held at in the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Imogene.   Memorials may be directed to the Essex Fire Department.
