On September 11, 1932 in Shenandoah, Iowa a daughter, Patsy Ann was born to Vernon Eugene and Doris Marcelle "Betty" (Brown) Mondt. Her early years were spent in this community where she also attended school. On August 4, 1949 she was united in marriage to her beloved Donovan Joseph Ginger in Papillion, Nebraska.
Pat and Don made their home in the Shenandoah and Essex communities except for a one year move when the children were small to Southern California. Following in her parents footsteps, Pat worked at Henry Fields Seed and Nursery as a mail order supervisor for 41 years until her retirement in 1994. While residing in Shenandoah Pat babysat for two later well know brothers, Phil and Don Everly. That was her small-town, claim to fame!
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Shenandoah Women's Club. The center of her life was her family. She delighted in family get togethers, enjoyed monthly lunch outings with her lady friends, putting together puzzles and doing word search puzzles. She had a fondness for chocolate and every Christmas her family members could look forward to receiving their individual boxes of Russell Stover Candies. She was a selfless woman, often putting the needs of her family ahead of her own. She was a "Grand" lady indeed. On Thursday morning, June 13, 2019 Pat entered into eternal peace at the Elm Heights Care Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Don; daughter Donna Lea; brother Vernon, Jr; and sisters Berry Mae and Marilyn Lee. Those left to cherish her memory include her children Donovan Tebbe Ginger and wife Beth and Rita Ann Thomas and husband Terry; 5 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Sheryl Mondt and Karen Wagner; brother-in-law Bob Ginger; other relatives and friends.
