Obituary

Ora May (Harper) Connor, daughter of Euell and Eunice (Dunn) Harper was born on October 11, 1926 in St. Joseph, Missouri. May passed on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at Elm Heights Care Center in Shenandoah, Iowa with her niece and Elm Heights nursing family at her bedside.

May's early years were spent in Northwest Missouri and Southwest Iowa. She attended Shenandoah High School graduating with the Class of 1944.

On September 1, 1949, she was united in marriage to Martin S. Connor. May worked as a bookkeeper for Leroy Miller and Joe and Tom Madsen and family at International Harvester, later Case IH. Together May and Martin operated MayCon Angus, a cattle business, until the Farragut tornado forced them to move.

May enjoyed her cats-she had many, many cats through the years. Most recent being Bobby and CeeCee until she went to live at Elm Heights Care Center. She also enjoyed doing word search puzzles. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary O'Howell-Strader Unit 102.

May was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 61 years, Martin in 2010, sister-in-law Pat Harper and her nephews Jamie Kinder and Jim King.

Those left to honor her memory are her twin brother P.E. "Diamond" Harper of St. Joseph, MO, nieces Ponya King and Janeen Harper of Westboro, MO and Lisa (Tim) Burdick of Raymore, MO, nephews Randy Harper of Cheney, NE, Marvin (Mary) Harper of Barnard, MO, and Scott (Julie) Harper of Junction City, KS and many great-nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Aunt May will be dearly missed by her family and friends. We are all thankful she is now at peace, talking up a storm with Uncle Martin.
