Nancy passed away on her birthday, Sept. 11, 2024 in Elkhorn, NE.  Celebration of Life Services will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wabash Memorial Chapel in Shenandoah.  Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery.  A memorial is currently being established.

On September 11, 1967 in Omaha, Nebraska a daughter, Nancy Jane was born to John Edward and Lois Marie (Disney) Vawter.  Nancy spent most of her life in Omaha, Nebraska. When she was younger she enjoyed spending weekends during the summer with her grandparents in southwest Iowa.   It was here in Omaha that she attended school and graduated from Burke High School with the Class of 1985.  She later went on to attend Metropolitan Community College.

During her working years she was employed with First Data Resources, she served as the primary caregiver to her mother and later worked for Phys. Lab.  Nancy had a deep love of animals and nature.  Her pets meant the world to her.  She also enjoyed quilting, collecting Fenton and depression era glass works.  She was a member of the American Quilters Society.

Nancy was dearly loved by her family.  She entered into eternal peace on her birthday, September 11, 2024 in Elkhorn, Nebraska.  Her memory will forever remain in the hearts and minds of those who knew her.  She was preceded in death by her parents, John Edward and Lois Marie Vawter.  Those she leaves behind include her sister Ruthmarie Vawter of Omaha, NE; a brother Raymond Vawter of St. Louis, Missouri; extended family and a host of friends.
