Celebration of Life Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at the Wabash Memorial Chapel at 11:00 a.m.  The family will greet friends one hour prior to services on Tuesday.  Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the Mt. Hope Cemetery in rural Nyman, Iowa.  Memorials may be directed to Essex Fire and Rescue Department in her name.

Phyllis Nadine Greever Lundgren was born at the Hand Hospital in Shenandoah on February 6, 1930 to Wayne Greever and Violet Wilson Greever Kohler. Nadine attended school in rural Locust Grove Township from 1st grade to 7th grade in a one room schoolhouse with one teacher. She graduated from Shenandoah Community School in 1948. Nadine and her brother, Keith would walk 1 mile to school even in the winter months sometimes having to walk on top of snow drifts and over the top of fences. As a family they would go to the corn field, each take a row and start pulling ears from the stalk and peeling the husk, tossing the ear in a wagon. In the summertime a grocery truck would
come each week where her mom and dad would give her a nickel or a dime to buy a piece of candy. That nickel was a lot of money!

On December 4, 1949, Nadine married Wesley Edwin Lundgren at the Methodist Church Chapel in Shenandoah and they made their home east of Essex. To this union, 3 boys were born, Donavon, Dwight and Dwayne. Nadine and Wesley farmed east of Essex and raised their 3 children and together worked the busy farm. Nadine's life was a testament to her hard work and dedication to the farm and to her family.

Nadine worked part time over 30 years, from the middle of January to the middle of July at Henry Fields Seed and Nursery in customer service. Aside from working on the farm with Wesley and raising her 3 boys, Nadine loved to make sure the dinner table was always set with homemade meals. Her specialty was her homemade Apple Butter and Swedish dish of Ostakaka. She would always fix her families' favorite "Marsh-mellow Brownies" that soon became the favorite of her Church Family. Nadine was a dedicated member of the Fremont Evangelical Covenant Church in rural Essex where her and Wes were club leaders of the "Hi league" youth group, taught Sunday School and she
was involved with the "Ladies Aid" church club. When Fremont Covenant Church closed their doors in 1991, Nadine became very active at the Faith Covenant Church in Essex. She would always bake her "Wacky" cake or help serve in the kitchen when she was able. Nadine loved to attend sporting events and birthday parties for her 7 grandchildren and now 11 great grandchildren. She rarely missed a sporting event or party for them. Nadine had a dedicated love for her family.

Nadine is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Wesley in October 1991, sister in law, Myrtle Lundgren Greever in March of 2018, and her brother Keith Greever in May of 2018. Brother and sister married brother and sister. Nadine is survived by her 3 sons, Donavon (Cheryl) of rural Essex, Dwight (Judy) of Shenandoah, and Dwayne (Jan) of rural Essex; her 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, along with many nieces,nephews, other relatives and a host of good friends and neighbors.

Nadine moved to Accura Health Care in Shenandoah 3 weeks prior to her death and passed away at the Shenandoah Memorial Hospital on July 24, 2024 at the age of 94.
