Mildred Marie (Miller) Peterson was born on April 24, 1925 in Aurora, Nebraska, the daughter Frederick Dwayne and Mary Chollot (Wolf) Miller. Mildred entered into eternal peace on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 in the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.
Millie's early years were spent in Farragut until the families home was destroyed by flood. They loaded up what they could salvage into a wagon and moved to Hamburg, where Millie attended school. The family later moved to Shenandoah.
On September 5, 1945 Millie was united in marriage to Wendell Robert Peterson in Rockport, Missouri. The couple resided in Essex where they helped Wendell's parents, Joe and Mildred Peterson farm for a few years. The couple then moved to a home of their own near Essex. The couple then moved to Carson where they continued to farm. Some years later they returned to Shenandoah, still farming until Wendell's retirement. Millie worked at Eveready Battery in Red Oak and also assisted Wendell on the farm, whenever needed.
She was a member of the Friday Federated Club in Carson. She also enjoyed knitting, and crocheting blankets for all of her grandchildren. They kept them all very warm!
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Pauline, Margarete and Helen; brothers Charles and Arnold; and by her beloved husband Wendell.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children Gary Peterson and wife Elaine of Clarinda, David Peterson and wife Lindy of Essex and Debbie Koehler and husband Steve of Shenandoah; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother Frederick Duane Miller and wife Marlyne of Sidney; sister Lola Hesse of Clinton, IA; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
