Micky Joe Jones was born on January 8, 1968 in Shenandoah, Iowa. Micky entered into the arms of the Lord on Thursday, February 25, 2010 at Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Micky was one of God's special angels sent here to earth to teach us all a valuable lesson about unconditional love. His parents, James and Vickie Irvin cared for their special son at home until the age of 7, when he went to reside at the Glenwood State School due to his Cerebral Palsy. Years later he would move to Nishna Productions in Shenandoah and later to Midwest opportunities in Corning where he remained until his passing.

Micky worked at Midwest Opportunities doing various jobs with his hands. He would use the proceeds from his job to purchase DVDs, games, do recreational activities, and his favorite purchase, his television. Micky was passionate about Nebraska Football. He loved to watch the "Big Red" and cheer on his other favorite team the Kansas City Chiefs. Mickey also enjoyed playing video games, spending time with his family, arm wrestling, playing Buddy Baseball in Red Oak, and being "the boss".

Those welcoming Micky into heaven were his father James E. Irvin and his grandparents Hubert and Darlene Jones.

Those left to cherish his memory include his mother Vickie Irvin; brothers William "Bill" Jenkins III and James O. Irvin; sisters Darlene Culley and Mindy Irvin; nephews Greg Artus, Zach Jenkins, Dallas Culley and Owyn Runyon; nieces Dakota Culley, Vayda Runyon, Bailey Braymen, and Kayla Jensen; a childhood sweetheart Penny Potts; other relatives and friends.
