Obituary

Maxine Mable (Morelock) Myers was born on January 11, 1922 to Jacob and Rena (Smith) Morelock in Fremont County, Iowa. Maxine entered into rest on February 20, 2012 in Shenandoah, Iowa following a brief illness.
Maxine attended Maple Grove Country School through the 8th grade, graduating from Shenandoah High School in 1939. Maxine joined the Fisher Loyal Workers 4-H Club at 10 and noted its positive influence on her life. Maxine was united in marriage to Clifford Harry Myers on September 20, 1942 at the Summit Methodist Church, south of Shenandoah. Maxine and Clifford were blessed with four children; twins--Larry and Harry, Keith and Sharon. Clifford and Maxine spent their life farming until their retirement in 1992 when they moved to Shenandoah.
Maxine celebrated her 90th birthday in January and to her delight was honored with a well attended Open House at Gardenview Care Center in Shenandoah on January 15th. Maxine enjoyed journaling for over 30 years, crossword puzzles, educating others on the history of Shenandoah, Page and Fremont Counties and playing the piano. Spending time with family and friends brought joy to her life.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clifford in 1995, her brothers; Earl Morelock and Elza Morelock, sister-in-law Geraldine Morelock and daughter-in-law Carole Myers.
Those left to cherish her memory include son Larry Myers of Sacramento, CA, Harry Myers and wife Debbie of Shenandoah, IA, Keith Myers and wife Diana of Shenandoah, IA, and daughter Sharon Green and husband Mike of Westboro, MO, six grandchildren; Sara Griffith of Abilene, TX, Katie Huston of Sacramento, CA, Kelly Myers of Oak Hills, CA, Stephanie Demanett of Shenandoah, IA, Clinton Myers of Phoenix, AZ, Rachel Myers of Omaha, NE, Kevin Green of Westboro, MO and Angela Johnson of North Kansas City, MO, 14 great-grandchildren, brother Glen Morelock of Shenandoah, IA, Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, as well as her Gardenview Care Center family.
