Julia Maxine (York) Cogdill was born on November 1, 1921 in Stanberry, Missouri, the daughter of Clyde and Edna (Jones) York. Maxine passed away on November 1, 2010 at the age of 89 at the Good Samaritan Care Center in Osceola, Nebraska.
Maxine was united in marriage to William H. Cogdill on June 23, 1940 in Stanberry, Missouri, and to this union six children were born; Shirley, Dennis, Kathleen, Terry, Kevin, and Richard. They spent 24 years living in Worthington, Minnesota before moving to Shenandoah. They owned and operated the A & W Drive Inn for 6 years. The couple was blessed with over 55 years of marriage before William's passing on July 19, 1995.
Maxine was a life long member of the First Christian Church. In her younger years she was also an avid golfer. The couple enjoyed traveling and made two trips to Spain to visit their son Kevin and his family. She also enjoyed her trip to Ireland.
She was preceded in death by her husband William, her parents, and brothers Clinton and Darryl.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children Shirley Storsteen and husband Rolf of Citrus Springs, FL, Dennis Cogdill and wife Rebecca of Denver, NC, Kathleen Sirmons and husband Doug of Lansing, MI, Terry Cogdill and wife Katherine of Osceola, NE, Kevin Cogdill and wife Maria of Oleiros, Spain, and Richard Cogdill and wife Patsy of Tyler, TX; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a brother Clyde Cogdill and wife Mildred of Fort Myers, FL; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
