Maxine Louise (Niday) Addy, was born on July 15, 1918 in Strahan, Iowa, the daughter of Glen Arnold and Pearl Viola Clites Niday Merchant. Maxine entered into eternal peace on June 22, 2010 in Omaha, Nebraska.
Maxine lived in Strahan, Silver City, Glenwood, Imogene, Shenandoah and Farragut, Iowa throughout her life. She attended school in Glenwood. At the age of 13 her father died and Maxine struggled through hard times in her early years and prospered later in life. On June 28, 1938 She was united in marriage to Clyde Darwin Addy in Red Oak, Iowa; after their marriage they made their home in Imogene, Iowa. Maxine worked for the telephone company in Imogene, the Carbon Plant in Red Oak; Henry Field Catalog Department (seasonally); Shenandoah Asgro Seed Co. (seasonally) and was an election poll worker. Through the years Maxine was a member of various camping clubs and a member of the Church of Christ and its women's church groups. She enjoyed reading, word search, crocheting, arts and crafts, gardening, flowers, camping with her husband and wintering in Texas after retirement.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brother Franklin.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters Barbara Bettis and husband Carl of Shenandoah, Carol Jones and husband Steve of Omaha, NE, Glenda Johnson and husband Randy of Glenwood, IA, and Cindy Shull and husband Danny of Coopersville, MI; one son Robert Addy and wife Diane of Farragut, IA; a sister Dolly Barr of Red Oak, Iowa; 17 grandchildren ; 31 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great grandchildren.
