Max Lawrence Woerth was born in Columbus, Nebraska on August 29, 1935 to Leo Bernard and Lillian Pearl (Plath) Woerth. He passed away February 24, 2015 at his home in Shenandoah, Iowa. He was 79 years old.

Max lived in Columbus where he learned masonry and worked in the family business for a short time. Max also went to many dances and drove stock cars in his younger years. Max attended St. Bonaventure High School in Columbus and graduated with the class of 1953. Max attended college but on February 6, 1956 he entered the U.S. Navy and was a surveyor for the Seabee's and was honorably discharged on January 5, 1960.

Max married Patricia Lynn (Kent) Falk on August 15, 1975 in Bethesda, Iowa and lived in Shenandoah, Iowa the rest of his life. He came to Shenandoah to work construction building Eaton Corporation. He was then hired by Webber Engineering. He also worked for UBC, AMVETS and for the City of Shenandoah until his retirement in 1997. He had many construction and masonry side jobs to keep himself busy.

Max was involved with the AMVETS, The Eagles Club, Knights of Columbus and St. Mary's choir. He enjoyed fishing, bird watching, stargazing, bike riding, doing picture puzzles, gardening, and rooting for the Huskers!

Max was preceded in death by his parents Leo and Lillian Woerth; brothers Leo, Jr., Valentine and Fred; sister Lillian and granddaughter Samantha Falk.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Patricia Woerth of Shenandoah; sons Mike Falk of Omaha, NE, Brian Falk of Washington, NE, Mark Mitera and wife Angela of Red Oak; daughters Lori LePorte and husband Reggie of Shenandoah and Pamela Woerth of Florida; sister Alice Rathbun and husband Ivan of Lincoln, NE; brothers Charles Woerth and wife Stella of Lincoln, NE, John Woerth and wife Barbra of Columbus, NE and Joe Woerth of Bellevue, NE; grandchildren Tyce Watts of Red Oak, Aayla Woerth of Council Bluffs, IA, Anthony Falk of Arizona, Katelyn, Seth, Natalie Johnson of Shenandoah, Leanna LePorte of Shenandoah, Daniel, Makenzie and Elizabeth Hunt of Red Oak and Shawn Falk of Norfolk, NE; great-grandchildren Ayiana, Nahla and Trinity; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Burial will be held at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Shenandoah, Iowa.
