Obituary

Max passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at his daughters home in Omaha.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Hackett-Livingston Funeral Home. The family will greet friends one hour prior to services. Burial with complete military honors will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be directed to the family.

Max Kenneth Bain, son of Orville and Maxine (White) Bain, was born on July 28, 1936 in Shenandoah, Iowa. He passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2019 in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 83.

Max was raised in Shenandoah where he attend school. Max graduated from high school with the Class of 1954. Following graduation Max enlisted in the United States Army. He served his country with pride until his honorable discharge in November of 1962. He had obtained the rank of Staff Sergeant. On January 17, 1960 he was united in marriage to Mae Ann Herron in Omaha, Nebraska. The couple made their home in Farragut for almost 60 years.

Max worked for the nurseries in Shenandoah for several years before joining Jack Copeland as an electrician. Upon Jack's retirement, Max purchased the business and renamed it Bain Electric. He retired in 2000, after a full career. Max was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles and the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Shenandoah where he was baptized and confirmed. He also enjoyed many community activities while living in Farragut. Some of Max's interests included gardening, hunting, fishing and wood working. He was a dedicated father, who shared his passions with his daughters. He could also be found at the local tavern enjoying a little refreshment every now and then.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Mae, parents Orville and Maxine, brother Rex and sister Judy Powers .

Those left with heart felt memories include his daughters Dorothy Laabs (Roger) of Papillion, NE and Denise Adams (Mike) of Omaha, NE; grandchildren Nicole, Justin, Natalie, Jason and Heather; great-grandchildren Rome, Magnus, Gavin, Zoey and Will; step-grandchildren Lynn, John, Jordan and Brandon; "adopted sons" Ivan Glenn, Mike Cox and Dave Garcia; siblings ZoAnn Welchans, Paula Durst and David Bain; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
