On February 2, 1935 in Clearmont, Missouri, a daughter, Mary Ellen was born to George and Surilda (Kramer) Guynn.    Her early years were spent on a farm northeast of Clearmont.  She attended country school through the eighth grade.  The  family then moved into town and Mary continued her education at the public school.

Mary was united in marriage to Emerson Colvin and the couple made their home in Hamburg.  Mary worked at the Sidney Health Center and also at a local café in Hamburg.  Following her divorce from Emerson, Mary relocated to Shenandoah.  She began her career at the Glenwood State School where she worked until her retirement.  She met James Ryan and the couple was married on December 4, 1980.

Mary was a member of the Congregational Church in Farragut.  Some of her hobbies included reading, shopping and coloring with colored pencils.   She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.  Mary Ellen entered into eternal rest of July 16, 2021 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter Mary Anne Mount.  Those left to cherish her memory include her grandsons Jeremy Mount and James Mount along with many dear friends from her church family and Admiral Manor where she had resided.
