Obituary

Mary Jane Parman, daughter of Harold T. and Sarah Marie (Williams) Parman was born on March 7, 1937, in Shenandoah, Iowa. She passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 30, 2006, at the Shenandoah Medical Center at the age of 69.
Her early life was spent in the Shenandoah and Essex, Iowa area. She attended Pleasant View Country School near Shenandoah and later attended school in Essex. Mary Jane was married to Lewis Schaper and to this union was born a daughter, Teri Ann Schaper. She worked at Berning's Caf, the Delmonico Hotel and most recently worked as an In-Home Care Provider. Mary Jane was a Christian. She enjoyed volunteering her time at the Shenandoah West Page Improvement Center. Hobbies of interest for Mary Jane included crafting, working plastic beads, crocheting and knitting. She and her sister, Marilyn, formed M & M Crafting to sell their wares. She also enjoyed listening to country music.
Preceding Mary Jane in death were her parents and husband. Survivors include her daughter, Teri Ann Schaper of Shenandoah; granddaughter, Lisa Hummel and her husband Brian of Shenandoah; brother, Harold Parman of Shenandoah; sisters, Marilyn Parman of Shenandoah and Joyce Dirk and husband Bob of Dickens, IA; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Graveside services were held on Wednesday, October 4, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Shenandoah. Words of comfort were given by the Rev. Fred Pearrow. Memorials are being directed to the family. The Hackett-Livingston Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
