Mary Louise (Long) McNeilly, the daughter of Orville Daniel "Bob" and Josie (Annis) Ford, was born November 17, 1917 in Shenandoah, Iowa. She passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2014 in Gretna, Nebraska at the age of 96.
Mary lived her whole life in Shenandoah until the last five year when she lived with her daughter Roberta "Bobbi" in Gretna, Nebraska.
Mary graduated from Shenandoah High School in 1935. She worked at the Mount Arbor Nursery as a secretary for many years.
Mary was united in marriage to Robert "Bob" Long on September 1, 1940 in Omaha, Nebraska. They resided in Shenandoah until Bob's passing on August 18, 1965. On September 23, 1967 she united in marriage to Maurice McNeilly. They also resided in Shenandoah until his passing on August 31, 2006.
Mary was a member of the United Methodist Church. Her hobbies included knitting and playing bridge. She loved her friends and going for coffee.
Mary was preceded in death by her 1st and 2nd husbands, her parents, four sisters, and a granddaughter.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters Carol (Wes) Westcott of Iowa City, Iowa and Roberta "Bobbi" Wehrmann of Gretna, Nebraska, five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, step-children John (Diana) McNeilly of Nebraska City, Nebraska, Marcia (Ed) Anderson of Des Moines, Iowa, and Donna (Ron) Roberts of Oelwein, Iowa, seven step-grandchildren, five step great-grandchildren, and nephew Don (Phyllis) Holmes of Galena, Illinois.
Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Hospice of Omaha.
Burial will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery in Shenandoah.
