Mary Marcene (Morgan) Coy, 87 of Farragut passed away on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at The Ambassador in Sidney, following an extended illness. Mary was born on April 30, 1925 in Hamburg, Iowa, the daughter of Earl and Marie (Mann) Morgan.
Mary spent her entire life in Fremont County. She attended Sedwick Country School, Hamburg High School and Farragut High School, where she graduated with the Class of 1943. On June 2,1945 she was united in marriage to Urban David Coy, the couple resided in Farragut for several years before moving to the farm just north of Farragut.
Mary worked for the telephone office in Farragut and Hamburg. She later worked at the Shenandoah Hospital. She was a member of the Farragut Congregational Church, since 1949 and Eastern Star. Mary was a very social lady. She loved to visit with her many friends. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and knitting and always did such beautiful work. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Dorothy Dawson and niece Nancy Hatley.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 67 years U.D. Coy of the home; son Larry Coy and wife Barbara; grandchildren Nicholas Coy and Carmen Nelson; great-granddaughter Natalie Nelson all of Riverside, CA; special friends Shirley and Lonnie Koch of Farragut; other relatives and many friends.
