Mary Louise (Desh) Clemens went home to heaven to be with her Savior, Friday morning, June 7, 2013. She was currently residing at Lamoni Nursing and Rehab Center. Mary passed away quietly in her sleep, with her daughter Rosella, and son-in-law Monte at her side.
Mary was born in Shenandoah, Iowa on March 24, 1937, grew up in Shenandoah and graduated from Shenandoah High School with the Class of 1955. She worked for one year at the Driftmeyer Co. and married Charles (LeRoy) Clemens in 1956. She and her husband resided in Council Bluffs, Iowa for two years and while there, their daughter, Rosella was born.
She worked as a proof-reader for her father V.A. (Bid) Desh until the mid-1980's. She also cleaned houses for a few Shenandoah residents and attended Iowa Western Community College later in life.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband Charles L. Clemens, parents V.A. and Julia Mabel (Manley) Desh, grandchild Charity Rose, sister Joan Ruth (Desh) Green, and brother, Robert Edwin Desh.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Rosella (Clemens) Johnson and husband Monte, granddaughter Chelsea (Johnson) Holmes and husband David and grandson Philip Johnson. She is also survived by a sister-in-law Pat Desh, brother-in-law Ronnie Green and many nieces and nephews.
